Mobile Pathways Raises $1 Million for AI-Powered Legal Immigration Tools

Mobile Pathways, a nonprofit dedicated to ensuring fair access to justice for immigrants, has secured $1 million in funding to enhance its AI-driven legal technology.

Supported by major partners such as GitLab Foundation, AlleyCorp, Fast Forward, Firedoll, and Splunk (a Cisco company), this investment will drive significant improvements in its AI platform, Pathfinder—a new tool helping immigration case management.

The funding marks a major milestone in the intersection of technology, artificial intelligence, and legal advocacy, empowering immigration attorneys and nonprofit organizations with efficient solutions to navigate complex legal cases.

About Mobile Pathways

Founded in 2018 by award-winning immigration attorney Jeffrey O'Brien, seasoned innovator Poesy Chen, and philanthropist Bartlomiej Jan Skorupa, Mobile Pathways is on a mission to democratize legal assistance for immigrants.

Through AI and mobile technology, the organization connects immigrants with reliable legal resources and employment information, ensuring fair access to justice.

Enhancing Pathfinder: AI for Smarter Immigration Case Management

Pathfinder, Mobile Pathways' flagship AI tool, is designed to simplify legal processes for immigration lawyers, nonprofits, and asylum seekers. With the new funding, the platform will receive significant upgrades, including:

  • Automated immigration status alerts to help attorneys track case progress.
  • Centralized legal data access for improved case insights.
  • Enhanced AI-powered analytics for better decision-making.

By integrating real-time data from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Pathfinder streamlines work authorization procedures, helping immigrants gain employment opportunities faster while providing nonprofits with free access to case history reports.

Empowering Immigration Advocates with Cutting-Edge AI Technology

Legal experts who have incorporated Pathfinder into their practice are already seeing its impact.

"Pathfinder has been a game-changer for my law firm," says Gianfranco De Girolamo, an immigration attorney at DGO Legal. "It allows my team to understand cases instantly, from consultation to adjudication, while ensuring we stay informed of critical case updates."

Given the threefold increase in asylum seekers since 2022, the demand for AI-powered legal support has never been higher. Mobile Pathways aims to bridge the justice gap by equipping attorneys with intelligent tools to manage cases more effectively.

Cross-Sector Collaboration Driving AI Innovation

Harnessing AI in immigration law is a complex challenge due to its intersection with multiple government agencies. However, Mobile Pathways has successfully navigated these challenges with the support of AlleyCorp, which plays a key role in enhancing Pathfinder’s AI capabilities through its Nonprofit ENG(INE) initiative.

"AI is a powerful yet intricate tool—one that requires expertise, ethical considerations, and thoughtful implementation to drive real impact," said Florencia Herra Vega, Partner at AlleyCorp and CEO of AlleyCorp Nord. "Pathfinder represents what happens when innovation meets purpose. We’re proud to support Mobile Pathways in scaling this transformative technology for underserved immigrant communities."

A Transformative Milestone for Immigration Justice

GitLab Foundation CEO Ellie Bertani echoes this sentiment, stating:

"We’re proud to partner with Mobile Pathways in expanding Pathfinder’s reach. This technology empowers immigration advocates to provide fair access to justice and employment opportunities to marginalized communities."

This funding milestone positions Mobile Pathways as a leader in AI-driven legal assistance, demonstrating the power of cross-sector collaboration in driving meaningful change for immigrants navigating legal and employment challenges.
