About Pano AI

Pano AI was founded in 2020 by wildfire veteran Sonia Kastner (CEO) and data-science expert Arvind Satyam (CCO) with a clear mission: harness advanced computer vision and machine learning to detect wildfires at their earliest stages.

Four consecutive years of triple-digit revenue growth have propelled contracted revenue past $100 million, enabling Pano AI to expand its global footprint and deepen its product roadmap.

Technology, Reach & Impact

Pano AI’s enterprise-grade platform combines cloud-native services, on-premises edge computing, and proprietary deep-learning smoke-and-ember recognition models to continuously monitor nearly 30 million acres across ten U.S. states, five Australian provinces, and British Columbia.

“Wildfires are becoming more frequent and more destructive every year,” says Sonia Kastner. “This capital allows us to equip first responders with the best technology to protect communities and critical infrastructure.”

More than 250 first-responder agencies and 15 major utilities—including Arizona Public Service, Portland General Electric, and Xcel Energy—rely on its real-time alerting, geospatial risk scoring, and situational-awareness dashboard to inform rapid, coordinated responses.

As a founding member of the Association of Firetech Innovation, Pano AI collaborates with government bodies, research institutions, and industry partners to advance next-generation wildfire detection, prevention, and response.

Its multidisciplinary team of remote-sensing engineers, software architects, wildfire specialists, and customer-success professionals remains committed to saving lives, protecting critical infrastructure, and building resilience against an intensifying global wildfire threat.

Proven Impact in the Field

During Red Flag conditions on June 16, 2024, Pano AI detected smoke from the Bear Creek Fire in Douglas County, Colorado, within minutes of ignition.

The platform’s real-time alerts enabled a swift helitack operation that contained the blaze to just three acres—protecting a watershed that supplies drinking water to over one million people.

“Every minute counts,” notes Mike Alexander, Director of Emergency Management for the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. “Pano AI’s early confirmation and precise coordinates gave us the lead time we needed to prevent a far more destructive event.”
