Resynergi Raises $18M to Transform Plastic Recycling with Modular Innovation

Resynergi, a modular advanced plastic recycling technology, has secured $18 million in Series B extension funding to propel its mission of reducing plastic waste and advancing a circular economy.

The investment was led by Taranis, the investment arm of Perenco Group, alongside existing investors Lummus Technology and Transitions First (T1ST).

This funding will allow Resynergi to commission its first commercial-scale site, significantly expanding its capacity to meet the growing demand for sustainable plastic resin.

About Resynergi

Resynergi, based in Rohnert Park, CA, is innovating plastic recycling with its modular Continuous Microwave Assisted Pyrolysis (CMAP) technology. By converting plastic waste into reusable liquid hydrocarbons, Resynergi reduces fossil fuel dependency and promotes a circular economy.

Partnering with recycling organizations, the company diverts millions of pounds of plastic from landfills and oceans, working toward a future where plastic never becomes waste.

Why This Matters

With global plastic waste projected to grow by 70% by 2050, innovative solutions like Resynergi's are crucial in addressing this challenge.

  • Sustainability laws and extended producer responsibility policies are driving demand for better recycling solutions.
  • Resynergi’s technology converts plastic waste into reusable molecular building blocks, reducing landfill and ocean pollution.
  • Taranis’ investment strengthens Resynergi’s position as a key player in circular plastic production.

"We're committed to turning on the first of many commercial sites while enhancing the value chain we've created to divert plastic from our landfills and oceans," said Brian Bauer, CEO of Resynergi.

Game-Changing Technology: CMAP

Resynergi's proprietary Continuous Microwave Assisted Pyrolysis (CMAP) technology is reshaping how plastic waste is recycled.

Modular and scalable – Can process up to 50 tons of plastic waste per day
Energy-efficient and cost-effective – Faster conversion times, smaller footprint
High-quality output – Produces clean, reusable liquid hydrocarbons

These Resynergi Modules, supplied by Lummus Technology, offer a decentralized solution that empowers material recovery facilities and businesses to take control of plastic recycling on-site.

Strategic Growth & Leadership

With this investment, Katherine Corrigan of Taranis Carbon Ventures will join Resynergi’s Board of Directors, further reinforcing the commitment to plastic circularity. Existing board members include:

  • Ilya Aranovich (VP of Corporate Strategy, Lummus Technology)
  • Marianne Abib-Pech (Managing Partner, T1ST, and former Global CFO of Shell Aviation)

A Future Where Plastic Never Becomes Waste

Resynergi, headquartered in Rohnert Park, CA, is leading the way in sustainable recycling by reducing dependence on fossil-based plastics and diverting millions of pounds of waste from landfills and oceans.

This latest funding round marks a major step toward scaling up operations and creating a circular economy that is both profitable and sustainable.
