Social Impakt is a social enterprise bringing enhanced water filtration technologies to rural communities in Indonesia. In just 3 years, the organization has already positively impacted more than 16,000 lives through providing access to clean drinking water.
After identifying stomach irritation as one of the most disruptive issues among young children, affecting their ability to focus in school and their parents having to stay home from work to take care of them, Social Impakt aims to break this vicious cycle by providing life changing technologies to communities in need.
Water filters eliminate the excessive use of fossil fuels and plastic bottles, as many families sanitize their water by boiling it over gas or wood, or they will purchase bottled water. This simple switch has already saved 9,000 tonnes of Co2 equivalent emissions, and has provided thousands of families with a safe process for water sanitation.
Today, Social Impakt is thrilled to launch their crowdfunding campaign on UpEffect. Their goal is to raise € 60,000 to provide 2,000 water filters for 3 villages and 25 schools in the area of Sidemen, Karangasem in East Bali, which will impact the lives of 15,000 people.
